Executive proposition

I built and scaled the operating model modern GCCs seek to replicate.

I have led every layer of modern enterprise IT: applications, platforms, integration, infrastructure, cybersecurity, data and AI.

Built and scaled in India from the ground up: the enterprise technology model modern GCCs now seek to replicate.

My record spans Fortune 500 scale, entrepreneurial growth and mission-critical environments. I am best suited to CIO and GCC transformation mandates requiring global authority, organization building, M&A integration or significant operating-model change. I also contribute as a CTO, CDIO, technology adviser or Independent Director where the mandate requires the same combination of scale and judgment.

Board & advisory

Technology judgment for the boardroom.

Certified Independent Director, qualified and empanelled through IICA / Ministry of Corporate Affairs. Brings an operator’s perspective to board, audit, risk and technology committees, connecting cyber resilience, AI governance, capital allocation, transformation value and enterprise technology risk.

Boardroom point of view

The blind spot in Generative AI governance

Generative AI risk is often reduced to model accuracy or cybersecurity. The quieter risks arise when prompts, retrieval layers, fine-tuning data, vendor telemetry and generated code allow confidential IP or regulated information to move beyond intended boundaries.

Board question: Can management show what data enters each model, who can access the outputs, how third-party controls are tested and how incidents will be detected?

Effective oversight: Use-case classification, data controls, human accountability, model and vendor inventories, red-team testing, audit evidence and clear stop/go gates tied to business value and risk.

Boardroom point of view

Capital allocation in post-merger IT consolidation

Post-merger technology consolidation is not simply a race to reduce application count. It is a capital-allocation decision involving technology debt, integration cost, operational continuity, control risk, workforce impact and the timing of value realization.

Board question: Which platforms should be retained, rationalized, modernized or retired, and what evidence supports each investment choice?

Effective oversight: Compare the baseline estate, integration dependencies, risk exposure, synergy case and business disruption before funding each wave. Release capital through measurable stage gates rather than optimism.

Boardroom point of view

From AI experimentation to enterprise value

Boards should distinguish AI activity from AI value. Pilots become strategic only when they improve a material business decision, reduce cost or risk, increase capacity, or create a defensible advantage that the organization can operate responsibly.

Board question: What decision or business outcome will improve, how will the baseline be measured and who owns the result after the pilot ends?

Effective oversight: Govern AI as a portfolio with value hypotheses, data-readiness checks, adoption measures, model-risk controls, workforce implications and explicit criteria for scaling, redesigning or stopping an initiative.

Boardroom point of view

Cyber resilience as a board-level operating discipline

Cyber resilience is not only a security budget or a compliance report. It is the organization’s ability to protect critical services, detect compromise, make controlled decisions under pressure and recover without unacceptable business or regulatory consequences.

Board question: Which business services are most critical, what would their disruption cost and how quickly can the organization restore them?

Effective oversight: Connect service mapping, identity assurance, segmentation, recovery testing, third-party risk, KRIs and risk-acceptance decisions to the enterprise risk appetite and executive reporting cycle.

How I lead

Operating principles for consequential mandates.

Leadership at scale is a combination of architecture, judgment, talent and disciplined execution. These principles guide how I approach greenfield builds, transformations, integrations and board-level technology decisions.

  1. 01

Build the operating model before scaling the headcount.

  2. 02

Make decision rights explicit and measurable.

  3. 03

Treat security, resilience and compliance as design requirements.

  4. 04

Develop leaders who can operate beyond the founder or incumbent executive.

  5. 05

Translate emerging technology into an accountable business portfolio.

Executive playbooks

Frameworks for mandates that matter.

Practical starting points for boards, founders and technology leaders. Each playbook is grounded in operating experience, not generic theory.

01 Build a GCC from zero to scale For boards and CEOs establishing or expanding an India capability center.

A GCC becomes strategic when its mandate, leadership model, talent engine and global interfaces are designed together.

The sequence

  1. 01Define the business mandate and executive sponsorship
  2. 02Choose the operating model, location logic and service boundaries
  3. 03Build the leadership spine before scaling hiring
  4. 04Sequence capabilities from service reliability to platforms, products and innovation

Measures: Time to first capability | Leadership depth | Service adoption | Global stakeholder confidence | Value delivered

02 Integrate technology after an acquisition For executives managing complex, regulated or IP-sensitive M&A integration.

Integration is a controlled operating-model change. Systems migration is only one part of the decision.

The sequence

  1. 01Establish the integration thesis and non-negotiable controls
  2. 02Baseline applications, identity, data, networks, contracts and technical debt
  3. 03Use readiness evidence and reconciliation before each cutover
  4. 04Move from stabilization to platform simplification and operating improvement

Measures: Cutover readiness | Control exceptions | Integration outages | Synergy realization | Post-merger performance

03 Make Zero Trust an operating discipline For boards and leadership teams seeking measurable cyber resilience.

Zero Trust is not a product purchase. It is a governance model connecting identity, endpoints, networks, applications, data and response.

The sequence

  1. 01Map critical business services and trust boundaries
  2. 02Strengthen identity, privileged access and device assurance
  3. 03Segment networks and protect sensitive data flows
  4. 04Connect controls to risk acceptance, incident response and board reporting

Measures: Privileged access coverage | Segmentation maturity | Control evidence | Recovery readiness | Risk exceptions

04 Lead AI and quantum readiness responsibly For technology leaders deciding where emerging technology belongs in the enterprise portfolio.

Readiness means understanding value, data, architecture, skills, governance and timing before committing to scale.

The sequence

  1. 01Identify high-value use cases and decision constraints
  2. 02Assess data quality, model risk, architecture and workforce readiness
  3. 03Run bounded experiments with clear evidence gates
  4. 04Create a roadmap for AI adoption, quantum readiness and post-quantum security

Measures: Validated use cases | Time to evidence | Data readiness | Risk controls | Adoption and business value

05 Design the enterprise technology operating model For CIOs modernizing fragmented technology estates or preparing for growth.

Architecture, funding, governance and delivery must reinforce one another across applications, platforms, infrastructure and data.

The sequence

  1. 01Create a fact-based portfolio and capability baseline
  2. 02Clarify ownership, decision rights and service expectations
  3. 03Rationalize platforms while protecting business continuity
  4. 04Align investment, vendor governance and transformation sequencing

Measures: Portfolio health | Cost transparency | Reliability | Delivery velocity | Business outcome alignment

06 Build leadership depth in a 1,000+ organization For executives who need scale without creating dependency on one leader.

Sustainable scale comes from leadership systems, not heroic intervention.

The sequence

  1. 01Set a clear leadership narrative and behavioral expectations
  2. 02Use talent reviews, succession planning and coaching to build depth
  3. 03Clarify decision rights through RACI, OKRs and balanced scorecards
  4. 04Listen through feedback and pulse mechanisms, then act visibly

Measures: Succession coverage | Internal mobility | Engagement | Decision speed | Leadership effectiveness
